Inspired by the 18th-century French fascination with Chinoiserie—a dreamlike interpretation of the East through a European lens—‘Kennedy’ is our poetic ode to that ornate, imagined world of mystery, romance, and storytelling.
Crafted from a double-sided jacquard woven with dramatic trailing florals, the fabric alone is a work of art—rich, tactile, and full of vintage grandeur. We fell in love with it at first sight and made it in both long and short dress versions. The longer version falls to the mid-calf with a slit at the back, while the shorter hemline lands just above the knee for a playful twist on courtly charm.
The bodice is structured with a corseted interior and fishbone shaping to flatter the natural curves, while the gathered puff sleeves and heart-shaped neckline feel distinctly theatrical, especially when worn off the shoulder (don’t worry—it’s finished with an anti-slip strip to keep everything perfectly in place). The wide shoulder pleats add a strong, regal silhouette, balanced by a slim, tailored waist and princess seams through the bust for a close fit.
We added delicate silk piping throughout and finished with a smooth satin-lined metal zipper at the back—for comfort and polish, always. And if you ask us? The dreamiest chinoiserie fantasy we’ve ever brought to life.
